Luanne
Ward,
Artist
and Designer Born
in Queens, NY one of her first memories is from nursery school.
She remembers her teacher Mrs. Watson, proclaiming, “Give the
decorations to Luanne, she’s the creative one.”
Growing up her creativity was supported by the people in her
life. Art and dance lessons
as a child, Fine Art major in High School, and while doing course work
at Parsons: School of Design and Fashion Institute of Technology, she
spent her free time as costume/scenic designer and stage manager to many
of New York’s dance and theatrical performance groups. Today,
Ms. Ward is the founder and lead artist of Only Definitive Designs, a
design strategy company, offering creative presentation solutions to a
range of industries. The tag line for the company reads: Presentation
is Everything. “You can have the best product in the world,
but if it is not presented well, no one will ever know about it.”
Only
Definitive Designs specializes in creating an "identity" for
the client's product, artist or company. Since 1996 Ms. Ward has
created logos, websites, dvd covers, business cards and brochures that
make a lasting impression on the consumer.
Creative products including electronic press kits, flash movies,
flyers, posters and e-blasts create promotional packages for artists in
all genres. Film
industry credits include Set Designer on the award winning film "Silent Cries of A Child" a film adaptation of a poem about
child abuse written by Lisa V. Stokes. Also winning awards is
"A Deeper Love" a
faith based film about the strength of love. The Lawrence Layne
productions came to her to create a cover and poster design that would
take this film to the next level. She did just that. Set
design, promotional and cover designs on "Choices"
a film created for the Administration for Children's Services.
This powerful film is seen by young people as an important part of
numerous city and state programs. Set Design and Prop Master on
the full length feature film “Deceptz”,
a gritty action film written and Directed by Sean Baker. Set
Design and Post Production Design on “Kingston
Ave” an episodic comedy and “The
Family” a made for TV movie both written by Terri Paterson &
Chyna Layne and directed by Chrys Yvette. Art Direction on the
feature film “Inside The Liquid”
written by Clinton Young, Directed by Iris Goodwin. Work
with NY Hospital Queens has resulted in several presentation solutions
for delivering information to enhance patient care, communication and
understanding. Ms. Ward has designed and produced many
informational publications including The Dialysis Quarterly newsletter,
patient care guides, multimedia presentations and resource directories.
In
1999 she provided creative solutions for the Port Authority of NY &
NJ as the artistic consultant for the Kennedy Airport AirTrain project
beautification effort. She
was called on to not only design the streetscapes for the project, she
developed several community inclusion programs to stimulate community
awareness. Her
response to community needs created the Mobil Arts Center, packaged to
go into the community to provide quality arts education wherever the
need exists. Visual Arts Workshops at the Queens College Prep
extended day program, Administration For Children’s Services, Pathways
College Prep School, Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, Project Green
Thumb, Sports & Arts In Schools Foundation, Southern Queens Park
Association and Roy Wilkins Family Center have allowed her to reach
people, young and old. In
2003, Luanne Ward authored a book entitled “Through
The Eyes Of My Sister”. This literary work was her
response to her sister’s missionary journey to South Africa.
All proceeds from this creative work benefit the people of South
Africa. As Co-Founder and
Chief Financial Officer of World Art Rhythm & Dance, Inc. she hopes
to reach world-wide populations. Luanne
Ward will forever seek to expand her creative vision. |
